Town Of east hampton

Arguably the center of the Eastern Long Island social swirl. A raft of luxurious boutiques and restaurants has opened. Beloved old hotels and barrooms have been renovated. And celebrities — most recently Madonna — are snapping up property in the area.  East Hampton and its' sister town, Amagansett, are the last stops before Montauk on Route 27, Montauk Highway.

Nearby towns and beaches

Within 25 minutes from 43HBD, one can be in East Hampton Village, Sag Harbor, The Springs, Shelter Island, Amagansett and Montauk.  Village and Town beaches are some of the nicest on the Eastern Seaboard, with access to harbor, bay and ocean surf.  These heavily protected pieces of land are picturesque, easily found and plentiful.

GARDINER'S Bay

Viewable from the upper balcony, the small arm of the Atlantic Ocean, approximately 10 miles long and 8 miles wide between the two flukelike peninsulas at the eastern end of Long Island. It is bounded on its eastern end, where it connects to Block Island Sound, by Gardiners Island and Promised Land.

Adjoining harbors include Three Mile Harbor, Clearwater beach, Acabonack Harbor, and Lazy Point's Napeague harbor.  It is bounded on the western end by Shelter Island. It connects by two channels at the north and south end of Shelter Island to Great Peconic Bay.

Landfall

Our private beach community is called Landfall.  The steps to the bay are approximately 500 paces from 43HBD's front door.  Landfall Beach is rarely occupied, accommodates dogs, has both foot and truck beach access (by way of Sammy's Beach launch) and is typically very calm, flat water.  Northeastern exposure is best in the beginning of the day, and sunsets over Cedar Point are breathtaking, sometimes hosted by the local deer coming down for a late bathe.
